Clan Policies: Warrior Code, Loner Acceptance, Punishments
RavenClan
RAVENSTAR
Loner Acceptance
Ravenstar allows loners to join the Clan, but they must not have committed any crimes against any Clan, they must be willing to take a Clan name and prove themselves, and they must be willing to train as an apprentice for a few moons while they learn the Clan ways. If they break the warrior code or commit any crimes against the Clan, they will be driven out. Usually a punishment for a former loner is more severe than punishment for a Clan-born cat for the same crime.
Kits under three moons are always accepted no matter the circumstance, however older kits must show that they are able to adjust smoothly to Clan life before they can become apprentices, and may not be accepted depending on their parentage.
Leaving The Clan
-The cat left to see the world, committed no crime, and now wishes to rejoin the Clan
Ravenstar understands wanderlust, and the cat will likely be welcomed back with open paws, as long as they continue to follow the Warrior Code and Clan rules.
-The cat was exiled but seems truly apologetic and wishes to rejoin
Ravenstar is rather stern in this case. Depending on the crime, the cat will be allowed to rejoin as an apprentice (No matter age or former status), or will be turned around and told to never return.
-The cat left for another Clan (as may be the case in a forbidden relationship) but now wishes to come back.
Ravenstar will likely question the cat about why they want to come back. If it’s a poor reason, she’ll turn them around and tell them to go back to the other Clan. If they were exiled from the other Clan, most likely she’ll drive them out of her territory. If they have a good reason to be returning (Fearing for their safety, falling out with their mate) she will welcome them back.
Warrior Code
Ravenstar expects all members of her Clan, from kits to elders, to adhere closely to the Warrior Code. She is more lenient than other leaders on a few things, such as murder of a cat outside of the Clan and eating prey before bringing it to camp, but punishments will still be enacted.
Punishments
Ravenstar usually deals punishments on a few levels.
MILD - The cat is let off easy, with perhaps a few days in camp or a day of apprentice duties on one end, and a mildly delayed ceremony or few extra patrols on the other.
MODERATE - Ravenstar sees this crime as serious enough to let the cat know that committing it is no joke. Punishments will range anywhere from a ceremony delayed by a moon or more, to apprentice duties for a moon or more, temporary exile (For no more than a quarter moon), to being kept in camp for up to a half moon.
SEVERE - Ravenstar takes these crimes very seriously, and punishments are anything from being demoted a rank, to being sent to another Clan’s camp to hunt for them for a while, to caring for the elders until further notice. Depending on the circumstances, exile or physical punishment is possible.
EXILE/DEATH - Exactly what it says on the tin. Reserved for severe crimes. Roleplayer will always have the choice.
Crimes
These are things Ravenstar considers crimes and will punish. Sorted from least severe to most.
EATING PREY ON PATROL - MILD
Most likely the cat will be assigned an extra patrol to make up for it.
REPEATEDLY TALKING BACK TO MENTOR - MILD
Said apprentice will likely be assigned to the elders for a few days. Repeat offenders risk a delayed ceremony.
BORDER CROSSING - MILD
Ravenstar doesn’t really care, but doesn’t wish to start war, either. To satisfy the other leader, offenders risk a few days in camp or some extra patrols. Repeat offenders may be asked to catch and give prey to the other Clan.
MURDER IN WAR - MILD
If one of her cats kills another during wartime, they can expect at most going to the other leader and apologizing, and a few days of dawn patrols.
VERBAL ABUSE OF CLANMATE - MILD
Provided that this is not a repeat offense, the cat can expect up to a few days of apprentice duties or dawn patrols. A repeat offense is treated as MODERATE.
ATTACKING ANOTHER CLAN IN PEACE - MODERATE
Again, Ravenstar is not wishing to start war. The offender can expect being confined to camp for up to a quarter moon or apprentice duties for a half moon. Does not apply if the other Clan cat is trespassing.
MINOR ATTACK OF A CLANMATE - MODERATE
Ravenstar takes any attack, however minor, against a Clanmate rather seriously. Expect up to a moon of apprentice duties and dawn patrols, as well as apologizing to the victim.
FORBIDDEN RELATIONSHIP - MODERATE
Expect up to half a moon in camp, and not being able to leave camp alone for the next few moons.
MURDER IN PEACE - SEVERE
Ravenstar mainly just wants to satisfy the other leader in this scenario, but with murder a cat can be hard to satisfy. Expect to be sent to the other Clan for a moon to serve and hunt for them.
MAULING OF A CLANMATE - SEVERE
For serious attacks, consider yourself lucky if you get only an instant demotion. Exile for up to a moon in addition isn’t uncommon. Also, you’ve pretty much lost your leader’s trust for life.
MURDER OF A CLANMATE - DEATH/EXILE
There are only a few things Ravenstar would kill or permanently exile a cat for, but she won’t hesitate if said cat killed a member of their own Clan.
